Memorial Weekend was the best! Grandpa and Grandma Meissner came to visit me, Daddy, Mommy, Bruno, and my little brother or sister. We were busy doing all sorts of activities all weekend (because you know Daddy needs to have something planned each day)! On Saturday, we went to the Farmer’s Market in the morning, then Brat Fest in the afternoon (after I woke up from my nap), and completed the evening at one of my favorite places to eat – Nitty Gritty! Sunday morning, we loaded up and headed south (Arlington Heights, IL), but not without making a pit stop at Starbucks of course. And yes, Mommy gets me Starbucks too! Daddy just looks at Mama and says, “Really?” And I say “Sta-buks!” My beverage of choice … a strawberry banana smoothie.
We got to the horse track in Arlington Heights around noon, and watched almost all the races for the day. We all placed our bets, but no big wins. It was also family day at the horse track so they had a petting zoo and pony rides for kids. I was interested, but kept my distance!
Monday morning we loaded up again and headed to Milwaukee to watch the Brewers. It had rained just before we got there (it’s a good thing Mommy packed my rain boots!), but it held off while we were there which was great! I didn’t last many innings sitting in my seat so Daddy and Grandpa took me up and down the escalators. I cried when we had to walk down the steps, but LOVED it when we got to ride the escalator back up. Thank you, Grandpa & Daddy!!
Tuesday was Grandpa’s birthday so we took everyone out to breakfast before Grandpa and Grandma headed back to Chili. I was pretty tired on Tuesday so I spent most of the day catching up on my zzz’s and lounging, so I would be ready for daycare come Wednesday!

My weekend wasn’t quite as exciting as my big brother’s – I had the same “view” the entire weekend – Mommy’s tummy! However now that I’m 23 weeks old, I’m eight inches in length and am slightly over a pound. This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain for me! I should double in weight over the next four weeks alone, and Mommy will notice that her tummy is doubling too! My skin is still a bit saggy since it grows a lot faster than my fat — but soon I’ll start to fit my frame as fat deposits fill things out. By the time I arrive, I will be pleasantly plump and filled out, from chubby cheeks to chubby toes.
Mommy and Daddy are still making lists of names for me, as they can’t seem to agree on a boy’s name (if I happen to be a boy). Can you help them decide? Give them some suggestions to add to their list! Mommy likes Ty and Daddy likes Carter, but neither one likes the other so those are out! Daddy said that Mommy seems to like “bro” names, and said “you might as well sign him up for a fraternity now if he’s a boy and we name him anything that Mommy likes!” LOL, Daddy!!
