We’re down to the wire, everyone! My time as an “only child” is coming to an end… while I’m excited for my little brother or sister to arrive, I still like having all of Mommy’s and Daddy’s attention right now. But don’t worry Baby, I’m ready to share and be the best Big Brother in the whole entire world!
Last weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I played with my Hot Wheels City (that I won’t be able to have out once Baby is here because we’re running out of room!), went to the library again (Mommy and Daddy even let me play on the library’s computer!), and went to my final Brewer’s game as an only child. I lasted almost three innings this time, which Daddy predicted (Mommy thought I’d only last two innings), but we had a lot of fun and the weather was great!
Now we’ll be spending our time resting and waiting for my little brother or sister to arrive, as it could literally be any day now!! Mommy and Daddy feel relatively prepared and we are all very excited!
Only a couple weeks (or less!) to go! I promised Daddy that I wouldn’t arrive on September 7th (as he has his fantasy football draft pick that day and he does not want the computer making his picks for the season!), but Aunt Kimmie thinks that would be a great day to arrive! 🙂 We’ll see… but, Mommy and I would like me to “bake” a little bit longer yet!
Mommy and I have been visiting our doctor every week, and Mommy is still progressing. We are doing great though as my heart rate was around 150 yesterday and Mommy is very healthy too! At 37 weeks, my lungs are likely mature — but that doesn’t mean I’ve finished growing yet. In fact, until the end of week 38 I’m considered “early term,” and still packing on about a half an ounce per day or half a pound a week. At this age, the average fetus weighs about 6.5 pounds. Based on Mommy’s appetite, most would think I’m a boy (as moms carrying boys tend to eat more than moms carrying girls – a foreshadowing of teenage refrigerator raids to come), which makes it a little more crowded in Mommy’s tummy, but I’m still stretching, rolling, and wiggling a lot! Mommy and Daddy even asked my Big Brother Brady if he wanted to feel Mommy’s tummy when I was moving… Brady scrunched up his nose, gave them the ugliest look in the world and said, “nooo!” 🙂
